About This Experience
Unwrap York's chocolate heritage
Discover why York is celebrated as the Chocolate City. On this guided tour you'll journey through time, uncovering the stories of legendary chocolate-making families and their sweet creations. Each room reveals a new chapter in York's rich chocolate history, showing why the city became world-famous for its confectionery. Enjoy plenty of chocolate samples along the way and have fun decorating your own chocolate lolly.
Roll your own Christmas truffles
As well as making a chocolate lolly, you'll also roll, dip and decorate four ganache-filled chocolate truffles.

- A fully immersive, guided tour through York's chocolate history.
- Interactive chocolate tasting featuring iconic York treats.
- Learn how chocolate is made.
- Decorate a chocolate lolly.
- A live chocolatier demonstration including freshly made chocolates.
- An additional 15 minutes of rolling, dipping, and decorating delicious festive truffles.

- Tickets: Adult and child pricing available; under 4s go free.
- Booking: Advance booking recommended, especially during peak times.
- Accessibility: Fully accessible experience, with carer tickets available.
- Dietary needs: Can be accommodated - inform staff in advance.
- Children: Our tour is most suitable for ages 4 and above, however, children under 4 can attend for free with a paying adult. Please not that under 4's do not get their own truffles, but they are very welcome to help others in their group. All children up to 15 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult.
- Please Note: No glass bottles can be taken on the tour.
