Please see below a list of our Terms and Conditions for all discounts and promotions. 

Pre-booking 10% discount

• Applies to standard tours only. 
• Only valid on bookings made online 48 hours in advance. 
• Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount and not exchangeable for cash.

Resident Sundays

• 20% off standard tour admission (walk-ins only).
• Valid photo ID proving York residence must be supplied. 
• One discounted admission will be issued per valid York photo ID.
• Only available on walk-up admission.
• Not available on Bank Holiday weekends or peak seasons.
• Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount and not exchangeable for cash.

Carer Discount 

• Valid carer photo identification must be shown on arrival.
• In order to qualify for our carers ticket, the carer must provide that they are named as the paid guest’s registered carer. One of the following documents must be provided, along with photo ID.
• The documents we accept that we accept as proof are: Carers card, Carers Allowance Letter of Award , Disability Living Allowance Letter (DLA), or Personal Independence Payment (PIP) . 
• One discounted admission is valid per booking, with a full paying guest.
• All online bookings must include the free carer ticket, carers can not be added on to separate or complete order. 
• Not exchangeable for cash.
• York’s Chocolate Story reserves the right to change or refuse the offer at any time.

Yorkshire Attractions Group (Gift Voucher)

• Vouchers only valid to use up until 31st January 2024.
• Not valid in conjunction with any other offer.
• Available on walk up tickets only. Can’t be booked over the phone or online.
• One voucher per transaction. Voucher to be retained by attraction.
• Not available for pre-booking.
• Children under 4 are free.

Emergency Services, NHS and Armed Forces Discount 

• 20% off standard tours (including family tickets).
• Valid proof of membership to the armed forces or emergency services must be provided. Only valid for a maximum of 5 people.
• Available for walk up admissions and online bookings. 
• Not available in conjunction with any other discount or on pre-discounted tours.
• One use per transaction.
• Children under 4 are free.

English Heritage  

• 20% off standard tour bookings (walk up admissions and online bookings with code: engheritage20).
• Not valid for special events.
• Not exchangeable for cash and only valid for admissions

• Valid proof of membership is required to receive this offer. Visitors must present the English Heritage card on arrival.

Guidebook hot chocolate discount (50% off) 

• 50% off York’s Chocolate Story hot chocolates with Guidebook purchase. 
• Hot chocolate discount is applied with up to two added extras (mini-marshmallows, whipped cream or syrup flavouring). 
• Applies to all hot chocolates contained within single order.
• Hot chocolates can only be redeemed on the same day the Guidebook is purchased or the day a pre-booked guidebook is collected.
• Not exchangeable for cash.

Little Vikings Card

• 20% off walk up admissions for standard tours only.

15% Football Discount (online)

• 15% online discount with code CHOCFOOTY15
• Visitors must bring football programme with them on arrival for discount to be valid (programme which include York’s Chocolate Story discount advert).
• Valid only on standard tours (where family, adult or child tickets are purchased).

National Rail 241

• The 2FOR1 offer entitles the voucher holder to one free Child or Adult entry ticket with the purchase of one full priced Adult entry ticket until 31st August 2025.
• Pre-booking is essential with code: NRAIL241
• A valid train ticket must be presented on entry to York’s Chocolate Story for the pre-booked tickets to be valid. This ticket must be 7 days before or after your visit date to York’s Chocolate Story.
•  If a valid train ticket cannot be supplied you will be required to purchase your second ticket at full on the day rate, subject to availability.

Founding Families Free Entry Campaign

• Free admission for adults and children with the first or last name Terry, Rowntree, or Craven (variations accepted, see details below).
• Adults must accompany a child using a free admission ticket (child tickets are for ages 4-15).
• Free admission for this promotion is valid from June 27th to July 11th.
• Applies only to walk-in guests who book at the admissions desk (not valid for online tickets).
• Photo ID must be shown to claim the free ticket with a founding family name approved by the admissions team.
• Guided Tours are subject to availability on the day.

World Chocolate Day give-away

• Open to anyone aged 18 and over.

• The prize is a classic guided tour for a family of four (2x adults, 2x children).
• The promotion will close on the 10th July and the winner will be announced on 11th July (via Facebook comments on the give-away post).
